Rated Voltage:
The rated voltage of the capacitor should be equal to or greater than the operating voltage in the motor starting circuit. If the rated voltage of the capacitor selected is too low, it may cause the capacitor to overheat, be damaged or even explode.
Rated Capacity:
The rated capacity of the capacitor should be determined based on the starting requirements of the motor. Too large a capacity may cause excessive current in the circuit, while too small a capacity may not provide sufficient starting torque.
Dissipation Factor:
Dissipation factor reflects the power loss of a capacitor under AC voltage. A lower dissipation factor means that the capacitor generates less heat when operating, thus improving its stability and reliability.
Insulation Resistance:
Insulation resistance is the resistance between the poles inside the capacitor and between the capacitor and the case. Higher insulation resistance helps reduce leakage current inside the capacitor and improves the reliability and safety of the capacitor.
Voltage Endurance:
The capacitor should be able to withstand the transient overvoltage that may occur when the motor is started. Therefore, when selecting a capacitor, attention should be paid to whether its withstand voltage capability meets the requirements.
Temperature Range:
The operating temperature range of the capacitor should adapt to the working environment of the motor starting circuit. If the ambient temperature is too high or too low, the performance and life of the capacitor may be affected.
Life Expectancy:
The life of a capacitor is related to its working environment, working voltage, working current and other factors. When selecting a capacitor, attention should be paid to whether its expected life span meets the usage requirements of the motor.
Safety:
Capacitors should have good safety properties, such as explosion-proof, fire-proof, etc. During the motor starting process, capacitors may generate high temperatures and pressures, so safety is critical.
Certification and Compliance:
Make sure that the selected capacitor meets the standards and regulatory requirements of the relevant country or region, such as CE, UL and other certifications. This helps ensure the quality and safety of the capacitors.
